Tour to Singapore Preparations

As a newbie traveller, Singapore is the first country in Asia that I have visited. Me and my friends have decided to go to Singapore because no visa is required. Here are the steps that we took in planning for this trip.

1. Know your budget.
Singapore's cost of living is a little bit expensive. In planning this trip everything should be within your budget.

2. Secure a plane ticket.
We were on a budget so Cebu Pacific Air is the number one airline carrier on our list. Cebu Pacific normally offers seat sales on a limited time period, so watch out for seal sale alerts.

3. Find a cheap, comfortable and safe place to stay.
Finding an accessible place close to sights and attractions are a little bit hard to find when you're on a budget. Good thing we were able to find Rucksack Inn 2, a dormitory inn (hostel) that offers bed space as well as room space depending on your needs.

4. Plan the itinerary.
In planning for the itinerary, you must know which places you want to visit. It is very important that you plan your itinerary based on the location of these places as this will not only minimize your fare cost but also saves time in maximizing your sight-seeing.

Rucksack Inn 2

Rucksack Inn 2 is a dormitory inn (hostel) located at Hongkong Street, Singapore. In terms of accessibility it is very near the Clarke Quay MRT station. For location details, click here.

Tips:
A. For travelers booking a triple room, you might be expecting having a queen size bed + an extra bed and be surprised to see a queen size bed + a mattress laid out on the floor just like we did. According to the management they consider this as a triple room having the spare mattress as a bed.
B. Shoes and slippers are not allowed within the rooms.
C. They have complimentary (unlimited) bread, spreads, water, tea, coffee, creamer in their pantry as well as shampoo and body wash on the shower rooms.
D. Free Wi-Fi, use of computers with Internet access.
E. They also have a living room area where you can watch TV, play games and read books which we only get to see on our last day because of our busy schedule.
F. The inn doesn't have a lift so you have to carry your luggage up the stairs.

A Day at Taronga Zoo

One of the coolest place to visit in Sydney is the Taronga Zoo. From our apartment we took the train going to Circular Quay and rode a ferry to get there. Riding the ferry gives us a view of the city landmarks, the Opera House as well as the Harbour Bridge.

Taronga Zoo is an ideal place to travel with family and friends. There's a great variety of animals that can be found here.

If planning for a trip to Taronga Zoo, it is best to be there early to visit the different animal sites and enjoy the free shows. It is open from 9AM - 5PM. Better get a trail map to keep track on where you're going next as you might get lost inside. Bring some food and water as walking all over the zoo can be quite tiring. Also, don't forget to check out for discounts and bring spare memory cards or battery for lots of picture taking. You can visit Taronga Zoo's website for more insights. Cheers!

Hillsong Church City Campus at Waterloo

Hillsong praise & worship songs are really popular and one of my favorites when it comes to Christian music. It was really fascinating to know that not only do they have a church but a school as well in Australia.

On my last Sunday in Sydney, I got the opportunity to visit the Hillsong City Campus at Waterloo. At first, it was a little bit hard to find where to board the Courtesy Bus Service from Central Station. But when I got to a waiting shed, I was able to talk to an old lady and ask her if she knows where the Hillsong bus will pass through. She said that she is waiting for it as well. I was really glad to have met her as I was really starting to feel lost.

A couple of minutes passed and people have started to be on the same place where we were and then the bus has arrived. Here are some photos:

Topic for the night was Temptation. Temptation is a Test. Temptation comes after a blessing. Temptation comes when you're alone. Temptation comes when you're weak. God has allowed us only to be tempted the way we can handle and He always gives us a way out. What is INSIDE us is bigger than what is facing us. God allows us to be tempted to have perseverance and grew our faith muscles. The service was really good and the speaker spoke with a great sense of humor.

Before the end of the service, they asked people to raise their hands for a free digital access to Born is the King Christmas album. I was glad to have been given access.

From praise & worship up to the message it was really an enriching and inspiring night. I really miss the 'Happy Clappy Church' as what my colleague has called it. To God be the glory!

Hillsong Live Recording - Together As One 2011

Last year, I was fortunate to watch the live recording of Hillsong's newest album Together As One. Finding out from a colleague that they have a free concert in Sydney, I immediately searched online for information on how to be able to watch it. Good thing there are details on Hillsong's website about the concert venue. I knew in my heart that I shouldn't miss this event.

From our apartment we took the train to Sydney Olympic Park and walked all the way to Allphones Arena where the concert took place. This is one of the best praise & worship event that I've been to and one of the experiences in Sydney that I will never forget. Here are some photos:

Together As One (Cornerstone) album is scheduled to be released this July 2012 and I can't wait to hear those great songs again...
